Acupuncture Care

Acupuncture needles being inserted into a patient's arm

What to Expect: It is normal to experience temporary effects that usually resolve within 24-48 hours. You may feel deeply relaxed, mildly tired, or notice temporary soreness, tenderness, bruising, warmth, or tingling at the needle sites. Some people experience immediate symptom relief, while others notice gradual improvement over the next few days or after several treatments. Occasionally, symptoms may temporarily fluctuate before they begin to improve.

DO'S

  • DO stay hydrated
  • DO keep moving. Light walking, stretching, or other gentle activities unless advised otherwise.
  • DO allow your body rest and relaxation for the remainder of the day to support your body's natural healing processes.

DON'TS

  • DON'T rush into high-stress or high-intensity environments (including intense work outs) right after your session if possible.
  • DON'T go into extremely hot baths, saunas, or hot tubs if you feel lightheaded or have localized soreness.
